Tim & Cynthia Shone -Lead Pastors
Tim Shone is the Pastor of Freedom Fellowship. He was born and raised in the city of Bristol and has a heart to see this city transformed with the love of God. He has been in full time ministry since the age of 18. When it was time to sit down and contemplate where he should go to college, he placed in front of him all the applications to every bible college imaginable. Although later he would go on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, at that time he felt the Lord speak to his heart directly telling him that going straight to college wasn’t the route he would take.
In 1999 the Lord sent him to New Brunswick, Canada to be mentored by Charles Mousseau, a man with prophetic giftings and the ministry of healing. While with Charles, the Lord taught him what is was like to truly live a life of faith and total dependency on God. This is something that would prepare him for the future of his ministry. Together, Tim and Charles traveled to Scotland and England ministering to many.
Upon returning to Connecticut after 6 months away, Tim served as an intern, a Youth and Children’s Pastor and as Associate Pastor at Bethel Christian Church in Bristol until 2006. He then went on to become Associate Pastor at Bethel Christian Church in Newington where shortly he married his wife, Cynthia.
Cynthia has also been in ministry since about the age of 20. She’s a pastor’s kid who grew up in the spanish church participating in teaching, preaching and leading worship. While at Bethel Christian Church in Newington, she was the worship leader and taught in Children’s Ministry. Together, Pastor Tim and Cynthia have a heart for people. One phrase that Tim always says is “You can’t give away what you don’t have.” Our goal is to equip, build and send.
